The padparadscha sapphire, one of the rarest and most desirable varieties of the sapphire family, is especially scarce in large sizes of 5 carats and more. This superb example, weighing an astonishing 5.73 ct, exhibits a particularly well balanced blend of orange and pink, the delicate hue these special sapphires are so famous for. Hailing from Ceylon/Sri Lanka, by many considered the source of the finest padparadschas, this sapphire is a veritable treasure. It is set into a carefully designed ring, hand forged in platinum and 18K rose gold. It fits relatively low on the finger and is very comfortable to wear!
