An exciting pair of earrings, centering around two rare and sizable cat’s eye actinolites – a collector’s gem commonly referred to as cat’s eye (nephrite) jade, but the gemologists at GIA issuing the report for this pair preferred to use the much more sober sounding name of the mineral itself, actinolite…so here we are!

Set in hand forged 18K yellow gold, we accented these large gemstones with countless little tsavorite garnets, their deep jungle green delightfully resonating with the fresh spring green of the cat’s eyes. Despite their massive size – the cat’s eyes have a combined weight of more than 23 carats – we managed to make the earrings very lightweight (about 5 gram each), making them comfortable and uncomplicated additions of color to any outfit.

With the chatoyant effect of the cat’s eyes – depending on the light and viewing angle a remarkably clear ‘eye’ will appear on each of the cabochons – these will make an excellent conversation starter for many occasions.

Metal: 18K yellow gold

Center stones: Two natural, untreated cat’s eye actinolites (also known as ‘cat’s eye nephrite jade’). 11.74 ct + 11.58 ct = 23.32 ct total weight.

Certification: GIA (New York), confirming that the two large cabochon gems are natural actinolite, with cat’s eye effect (chatoyancy)

Accent stones: 80 fine quality tsavorite garnets with a total weight of 0.90 ct.
